Hemingway Hero(Main Character)

1. "I unwound the puttee and while i was doing it i was there was no need to try and make a tourniquet because he was dead already. I made sure he was dead."(55).

In this part of the story the main character just got blown up in their shelter while eating mac'n'cheese. They were waiting for a battle to start and it did and the different ambulance divers were in the shelter with the main character. The main character could not move once it happened but saw one of his friends that had his leg blown off. The main character could not move but threw persistence he got his motionless body to his friend to stop the bleeding from his lost limb. While he was doing this his friend died. This shows his heroism by the fact that he moved himself to his friend who in the end died from the wounds that he was trying to mend.

A Farewell to Arms

this book is very short and choppy so far with reading it i do not have any interest for it...... i hope that this soon changes.... the main character is a ambulance driver  and is starting to have a relationship with a nurse at a near by hospital.... the main character thinks she is crazy and quite frankly she is.... her insanity adds much needed humor into this book
